What is it?: An Organic/Chemical SPF that focuses on skin moisturisation/hydration without white cast.

Brand Description: A 4-season, moisture/lotion-like sun gel with no white cast. This product aims to moisturise the skin + relieve it of irritation. Containing Ceramides, this product aims to prevent the skin from feeling dry. With the addition of 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid – these ingredients aim to lock moisture into the skin. Niacinamide is included to help the skin’s oil-moisture balance. Soothing ingredients are also.

Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types

What I think: I agree. I do think perhaps this might be too dewy or moisturising for those who have very oily skin. But I think Combination skins could really enjoy. You just need to enjoy looking like you have a glow, if you’re used to mattifying SPFs. Because this feels quite refreshing and cooling, even those in hot climates may find this ok. I will say that when I wear this, I don’t use many skincare layers underneath (as this is moisturising) so it does keep this product feeling lightweight. I do think if you’re sensitive to essential oils/ fragrance or alcohol in SPF then this could also be good for you.

Directions: Apply as you would, any SPF

How I use it: I apply two layers (I do this for any SPF) in the AM after toning (I skip cleansing with a cleanser in the morning).

Key Ingredients: The 8 Molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid are the ‘selling point’ of this product (hence why it’s in the title). They are in bold below. Rest assured, ti does help make this product hydrating.

  • UV FILTERS: 1. Polysilicone-15 2. Ethylhexyl Salicylate 3. Homosalate 4. Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol 5. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine

Full Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Homosalate, Dibutyl Adipate, Niacinamide, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Cyclopentasiloxane, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol, Polysilicone-15, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Pinus Pinaster Bark Extract, Ceramide NP, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycerin, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceteth-10, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Decyl Glucoside, Propanediol, Tocopherol, Astaxanthin, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Ascorbyl Propyl Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acetylated HyaluronateHydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Adenosine, Xanthan Gum, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Propylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin

PLEASE NOTE – if you want to know more about the ingredients, I highly suggest you watch my Isntree Youtube SPF Video which discusses the ingredients! (Down below!)

Who doesn’t love the inclusion of Niacinamide?

Texture: This has a lightweight, cream-like texture. It does feel subtly cooling to the touch upon initial application. It’s easy to spread, no rubbing or tugging.

NOTE: THIS CAN BALL UPbut it depends what you use underneath. for instance: my AM routine consists usually of Toner —> SPF. SO, INITIALLY, when I was using the Isntree Green Tea Toner (a watery toner, review HERE) – this SPF did not ball up at all. BUT now that I use the Purito Centella Unscented toner (a thicker toner) – it has encouraged my SPF to ball up. Therefore, I would recommend not to use thick/viscous skincare products underneath it and keep it very watery/lightweight underneath and then I don’t think this issue would occur. I do think it could be fine (if you have my skin type) as I find this hydrating/moisturising, so I don’t have a need to use a thick product underneath this for reinforced moisture.

It looks likea a milky/cream-line product!

The finish

Do you see this has a dewy finish? It’s not oily or greasy, but it’s dewy – like using a water-based moisturiser

White Cast?: WATCH THE BELOW VIDEO – YOU CAN SEE THERE IS NO WHITE CAST!

Fragrance?: No added fragrance or essential oils. This does contain Olive Fruit Oil which gives off a scent but it isn’t used here for scent, it’s used as it’s a good emollient. I don’t get any strong smells from this – so I think those that really don’t like that typical ‘spf’ smell would REALLY like this.

Good Under Makeup?: Seemed to be fine for me! but I do like to pat and not rub my foundation in, if that makes a difference in terms of balling up? I think it may depend on the foundation one uses.

How long have I been using this?: Until Competition! About 2 months everyday.

The Effect?: Moisturised + Hydrated skin.

Stings the eyes?: No!

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4/5 – Genuinely a comfortable SPF! I do prefer a more matte finish however. I’m not one for looking dewy. But I do like the hydrating feel of this SPF without it feeling too thick / heavy or making my skin feel like it can’t breath. Also, I like the fact that there is no white cast and that I don’t get any strong smells from this. This product didn’t discourage me from re-applying. My other issue with this is the slight balling up experienced if I use the wrong toner/product underneath – i.e. I never get this problem with SPFs that contain alcohol – like my beloved Missha Aqua Sun Gel or the Krave Beauty Beet the Sun SPF. So I do just have to be careful to use very lightweight, more watery products underneath this SPF (which is annoying). I do like that this doesn’t contain added fragrance or essential oils.

Would I purchase?: Yes! Not a bad product. Of course my ultimate favourite SPF is the Missha Aqua Sun Gel.

Dupe?: The Hada Labo UV Gel feels very similar to this (but I did have more issues with the SPF balling up compared to this). Review HERE

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
