2020 Skincare Product Favourites + Recommendations!

Hey Guys!

Since I’ve tried a lot of products in 2020, I wanted to list some of my absolute best products I’ve reviewed this year! I’ve tried to choose products from different categories.

  • Krave – Oat So Simple Water Cream (80ml)

My Review: HERE

Available on Stylevana (US Website Link): HERE

and UK Website Link: HERE

Stylevana Discount Code: SAHANNAH

  • Recommend for: Oily / Combination / Dehydrated

– This was genuinely a lovely cream. Yes a bit pricey for the amount you get, but I think this is the most unique cream I’ve tried this year. It is so close to feeling like water, but then has this emollient quality to it, and the product is SO lightweight and melts into the skin without leaving it looking oily or feeling greasy. And I love that it’s such a simple formula, as someone with reactive skin.

  • Recommended for: Oily / Combination / Dehydrated Skins

– This was a lovely duo cream with a lot of skin-beneficial ingredients. The formulation is slightly different between the two creams so as I would like the benefits coming from both creams, I tended to mix and match, and apply onto the whole face, instead of focusing on just the T and U-Zone.

  • Recommended for: Uneven Skin Tones, Large Pores + Textural irregularities (I think any skin type could use, unless sensitive to niacinamide)

-I really enjoyed using this toner. I found it not only gentle but also hydrating. I didn’t seem to get any skin irritation either. This is a water-based, thick toner (like the Hada labo premium lotion).

  • The Inkey List – Niacinamide (30ml)

My Review: HERE

Recommended for: Oily + Combo

-Another Niacinamide product I enjoyed. Containing a high % of Niacinamide, and a texture that FAST absorbs + dries down so I’m not left waiting for ages. Didn’t seem to irritate my skin either + unfragranced. This is more creamy and less watery than the good molecules toner.

  • COSRX – Snail Peptide Eye Cream (30ml)

Review: HERE

Available on Yesstyle HERE

Discount Code: CVQFZA

Available on Stylevana: HERE

UK website: HERE

Stylevana Discount Code: SAHANNAH

  • Recommended for: Any skin type – from dehydrated to dry skins.

-A cooling, hydrating and moisturising eye cream, loaded with skin-beneficial ingredients like peptides, niacinamide and antioxidants etc. The gloopiness of snail mucin is something one needs to get over, but I would recommend!

  • Recommend for: Dehydrated skins + Dry skins (dry skins would require an extra layer of moisture as this is just a hydrating layer).

-Like a drink of water for the skin. It’s so ridiculously hydrating. Once again loaded with some skin-improving ingredients, and really improves the hydration-levels of the skin.

  • Recommended for: Sensitive / Dehydrated / Combination skins.

-I thought this would be thick! But I was surprised by how this didn’t gloop up, this didn’t ball up and wasn’t sticky or tacky on the skin. It feels quite hydrating, but most of all I was so happy it didn’t irritate my skin.

  • The Ordinary – Squalane Cleanser (150ml)

My Review: HERE

  • Recommended for: Dry skins / Skins that get easily stripped by most cleansers.

-I didn’t realise that I would love creamy/cream-type cleansers. I find them the least stripping, and have found it quite hard to go back to foaming cleansers.

  • AXIS-Y – Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam (120ml)

My Review: HERE

Yesstyle Purchase Link: HERE

Yesstyle Discount Code: CVQFZA

  • Recommended for: All skin types, even sensitive

-I don’t like foaming cleansers. But out of all the foaming cleansers I tried this year, I would say this was the best one so far. It’s gentle, and didn’t seem to really dehydrate my skin and make it feel tight after a cleanse.

Stylevana Purchase Link: HERE

  • Recommended For: Oily / Combination Skins

– I really enjoyed using this during the summer, when I didn’t want anything thick or heavy on the skin. It feels like a gel and is cooling to the skin.

  • Good Molecules – Caffeine Gel Eye Patches (60 patches)

My Review: HERE

Available on the Good Molecules Website: HERE

  • Recommended for: If you have tired / puffy eyes in the morning and need to wake up. Or prepping your eyes before applying concealer.

-My favourite eye patches! Wasn’t sticky or gloopy for me and genuinely helps me wake up and de-puff in the morning.

  • Recommended For: Dry / Sensitive Skins (i.e. if you like the Hada Labo Premium then you would like this!)

-I can’t wait to publish my review. This is a nice, thick toner that has been the most pleasant to use out of all the of the toners above. I’d say it’s a perfect dupe for the Hada Labo Premium Lotion, and is just as thick.

  • Juno Skin – Cleansing Balm (85g)

My Review Will be Coming Soon!

– My discount code is: HANNAHSKIN10 for 10% off your purchase!

The Juno Skin Website: HERE

  • Recommended For: Any skin types (except if you are sensitive to Essential Oils!)

-Genuinely a really nice cleansing balm. I think it’s really effective at removing makeup, washes off easily and didn’t irritate my skin. Not thick or heavy, and soft. I’d say this is just as good as the Wishful Skin Clean Genie Cleansing Balm. But I find this a bit more effective at makeup removal, even if the genie cleansing balm is softer. Stay tuned for my review but I recommend!!

  • Isntree – Watery Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++ (50ml)

  • Recommended For: Dry Skin + Skins sensitive to fragrance (as this is unfragranced) + for people who don’t want alcohol in their SPF (although I must say, if there is no alcohol, you cannot expect to have an extremely lightweight, watery texture – hence why I recommend this more to dry skins).

-A nice, moisturising SPF! Didn’t make my skin feel like it couldn’t breathe. Probably my favourite SPF that doesn’t contain alcohol (as my all time fav is the Missha Aqua Sun Gel, Review HERE).

-Through reviewing products, I have realised that I definitely prefer unfragranced/unscented products simply as a personal preference. So I will aim to find more K-beauty products that are unscented. I also hope to try more J-Beauty (as I’ve been really enjoying Curel). I also think I will try and refrain from purchasing SPFs that are Inorganic/Physical as they keep disappointing me with their white casts. I want to find more and more great Organic/Chemical K-Beauty and J-Beauty SPFs as well as testing out some decent Western SPFs, and share my findings with you! Happy new Year!

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
