What is it?: A toner that contains 72.6% of Black bee Propolis extract and 10% Honey extract, meant to make the skin feel ”Glowy” and ”Smooth”.
Brand Description: A Daily toner that can be paired with the Propolis Light Ampoule, containing 72.6% Black Bee Propolis Extract (Supposedly the highest amount of Propolis Extract which can be added into a product without altering the texture)+ 10% Honey Extract to make the skin feel smooth, repair the skin + look ”glowy” (Basically hydrate the skin).
Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types
What I think: I think Oily + Combo + Sensitive (Not sensitised) Skins would prefer this over Dry Skins as it’s so lightweight and watery. I do think that is why COSRX encourage the Propolis Ampoule (and if you would like to see the texture of the Propolis Ampoule then check out my Youtube video below) be used with the toner as the Ampoule is thicker and therefore would be suitable together with this toner for Dry Skin.

Vegan?: No (Due to the Propolis)
Cruelty Free?: Yes
Packaging: Hard Plastic Bottle (Can’t squeeze it i.e not flimsy) with a Flip top Cap (Great + Easy to pour out / apply onto the skin)
Directions: Supposed to go well with the Propolis Ampoule HERE – Apply straight after washing your face.
How I use it: I used this in the PM as either a toner or a serum/essence (as this is slightly thicker than water). It is thin enough to be used with a cotton pad.
Key Ingredients: 10% Honey Extract (Anti-inflammatory, Antibacterial + Hydrating – Hence why it’s encouraged for Acne Prone / Acneic Skin to use Honey / Propolis) + 72.6% Black Bee Propolis (Skin Conditioning) + Glycerin + Hyaluronic Acid (Hydrating + Moisturising). Panthenol (Soothing). Betaine (Moisturising).
Full Ingredients: Propolis Extract, Honey Extract, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Betaine, Cassia Obtusifolia Seed Extract, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

Texture: Cosrx state that this is a non-heavy essence-like toner – I would agree. I even use this as an essence due to the unique texture of propolis. This is a layerable, lightweight product that does not ball up on the skin. My skin feels like it can breathe after applying. It’s not sticky. The more you rub/tap, the more this is absorbed into the skin.
HOWEVER I will say that this doesn’t DISAPPEAR into the skin – You definitely get that Glycerin feeling on top of the skin that fills in fine lines.

As you can see this does make the skin look very ‘glass-like’ upon initial application.
Video Swatch:
Hopefully you can see how lightweight, shiny and hydrating this is.
Face Swatch:
Hopefully you can see that this is so watery and lightweight. It just runs down the skin and absorbs quickly!
Winter or Summer?: I think this suits the summer better but of course this can be used under thicker creams in the winter.
Good for Sensitised Skins?: No. If my skin is sensitised due to shaving and/or Retinol use, this stings. The I’m from Mugwort Essence would be better for sensitised Skins.
Fragrance?: No added Fragrance and / Or Essential Oils – Doesn’t smell of anything to me.
Good Under Makeup?: Yes as this doesn’t ball / pill up
How long have I been using this?: About 3 months every other PM
The Effect?: Hydrated Skin, no more and no less.

What I like:
- Hydrating
- Lightweight
- Didn’t Ball up
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Sturdy Packaging (easy to travel with)
- Layerable
- Didn’t sting or irritate my skin
What I don’t like:
- Could be thicker (But that’s why the Ampoule is meant to be paired with this as it’s thicker) – A thicker toner is the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner Plus HERE
- Could have added more beneficial ingredients i.e. Niacinamide etc
- Stings if the skin is sensitised (i.e. from Shaving/Retinol)
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4/5 – This is probably my favourite product from the Cosrx Propolis Line. This is a Great, lightweight and Hydrating Toner. It is rather simplistic in both texture and formulation, but if you are a fan of Propolis + Honey then you may enjoy this.
I do think those in hot and humid weathers will appreciate how lightweight and multi-tasking this toner is i.e. I use it as a toner/serum/essence. This definitely hydrates the skin and doesn’t make it look worse/aggravate it. I appreciate that it absorbs quickly and layers well.
Adding some more skin beneficial ingredients instead of pretty much depending on the Propolis/Honey would have been nice, but this is called a Propolis toner (and has a HIGH % of propolis) so I understand.
Would I repurchase?: Yes! I would as this doesn’t ball up, layerable, hydrating and lightweight. I like the texture of propolis, it’s quite unique (I think I like it more than Snail Mucin).
Dupe?: The Wishtrend Propolis Ampoule – Review HERE
My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
