Description: A primer that’s supposed to prep the skin i.e. reduce redness and reduce the look of pores before applying makeup or just before SPF. Buildable so you can increase or reduce the effect. Personally I don’t see a change in my skin upon applying, but I use this for hydration/moisturisation before SPF / makeup and not as a specific skin-changer before application of makeup. I use this a moisturiser.
Quote: ‘This comforting cream allows you to layer and build up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on climate, season, or how your skin’s feeling on any given day.’
Good for: This is supposed to be good for all skin types. I think sensitive skins could enjoy this (no fragrance). I’d love to know if this has calmed down people’s irritated skins. I think people who don’t like using creams would enjoy this because it’s light. I also think people who require a good hydrating primer before makeup would enjoy this. I don’t think this would be moisturising enough for extremely extremely dry skin.
Directions:
- After cleansing, massage Priming Moisturiser into your face
- Remember, this cream is buildable, so you can add as many layers as you want either before makeup or SPF.
How I use it: I apply this before my SPF in the AM. I cleanse, tone and then apply this. I apply just 1 layer and that’s enough for me, but 2 is good too.
Packaging: Screw top cap (I’d prefer this to be a flip-lid than a screw top – would make it easier to use). Lovely pink packaging, plastic (soft).

Good under makeup?: YES! This is a ‘priming moisturiser’ so this is meant to be good to wear under makeup. I have worn this under makeup and it’s been fine for me! Does not pill / ball up and hydrates the skin adequately for under foundation/concealer.
Fragrance?: No! excellent 😀
Key ingredients:
Hyaluronic acid: Hydration
Mushroom Super Hydrator ‘Apparently’ – provides deep moisture.

Texture?: It’s a light cream that almost feels like gel. Not gloopy or sticky. Not watery but close to it. I would still put this in the category of a cream but a cream for people who don’t like wearing creams / heavy creams. This does not feel heavy and is layerable. spreads easily and absorbs well. This actually seems to ‘cool’ down my skin and calm it?

Video swatch of the moisturiser if you would like to see it in another format!
How long have I been using this?: 1 month
The effect?: Cooled down, hydrated skin – great canvas for makeup application too.
What I like:
- No Fragrance!
- No irritation / stinging from this
- Easily spread around the skin
- Well absorbed into the skin (doesn’t disappear, it’s still on your skin)
- ‘buildable’/layerable and does not ball up
- Hydrates my skin
- Calms down my skin (cools it down)
What I don’t like:
- Packaging – I worry in air/cabin pressure on a plane that this would spew out and waste all my product (always my issue with tube packaging)
- may not be moisturising enough for dry/ very dry skins
- Could have added some extra skin-benefitting actives? But perhaps that could increase the chances of irritating some people’s skins
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.9/5 – What would make this amazing is 1 – adding something like Niacinamide to the formulation, just to add in some extra skin benefiting perks. Also if this came with a pump or a flip-cap tube, that would be useful. I don’t like wearing creams at all – so the fact that I apply this gladly AS A CREAM is really good. I don’t think this is better than my tony moly green tea chok chok watery cream BUT I am someone that prefers gels. I think this is JUST under the innisfree minimum moist cream. I recommend to people who want a hydrating primer that does not affect your makeup OR for people who don’t like wearing cream.
Would I repurchase?: YES! I would because it’s LIGHT. And it absorbs fast: 2 things I really require for a moisturising cream as I don’t like using moisturisers!!
