What is it?: A moisturising chemical sunblock with high SPF protection.
What the brand says: This creamy-milk sunblock is meant to moisturise (prevent the skin from drying out) and soften the skin with the help of butylene glycol (Hydrating / Moisturising) and Niacinamide, leaving a comfortable finish on the skin without any stickiness and no white cast.
Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types.
What I think: I would agree; this works for most skin types unless you are sensitive to chemical (organic) Sun filters. As this is a cream, very oily skins in hot and humid weather may prefer something lighter or more mattifying than this product.
Vegan?: Yes.
Cruelty Free?: Yes.
EU Allergen Safe?: Yes.
Malassezia Suitable?: No.
How long does it last after opening?: 12 Months.
Packaging: Plastic tube with a screw-top cap. The dispensing-tip is easy to use (doesn’t get too messy).
Directions: ”At the last step of skincare, apply a proper amount onto the skin evenly.”
How I use it: I apply as instructed, however as this is a good facial sunblock, I only apply this on the face and use a body spf for the neck and ears etc.
Does this sting the eyes?: No.
Does this turn milky when sweating?: No.
Sunscreen: (These mostly are Chemical/Organic Filters): Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus – UVA Filter), Ethylhexyl Triazone (Uvinul T 150 – UVB Filter), Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Tinosorb M (This is a half-physical / half-chemical Filter: UVA + UVB Filter), Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone (Uvasorb HEB – UVB + UVA II Filter).
NOTE: This contains the Half-Physical + Half-Chemical Filter Tinosorb M. This CAN provide white cast HOWEVER on my warm Golden Toned skin, I do not notice a white cast. I do not look noticeably grey to others or ashen. If you have a deep skin tone, I am unsure if this would look too reflective.
Key Ingredients: Niacinamide (Anti-blemish and Antioxidant) / Adenosine (Anti-inflammatory)
Full Ingredients: Water, Dibutyl Adipate, Propanediol, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Niacinamide, Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Methicone, Pentylene Glycol, Behenyl Alcohol, Poly C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Decyl Glucoside, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Acrylates/ C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Xanthan Gum, t-Butyl Alcohol, Tocopherol
NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE
Texture: A smooth, creamy moisturising sunblock that is easy to massage into the skin (please see swatch video below). Once this has absorbed, you’re left with a light silicone layer on top (that doesn’t budge).
Sticky?: No.
Greasy?: No.
Balls up?: No (Would only ball up after hours of wearing and I purposefully rub my face and try to make this ball up).
- As you can see, this starts off as a cream and then blends out and looks very moisturising on the skin. This does not have a mattifying finish, so there is a slight glow/dew to the skin HOWEVER it is not uncomfortably shiny for my Oily-Combo skin (in UK weather).
White Cast?: No, I do not notice a white cast on my Warm Golden Tone Skin. Due to the Tinosorb M, I am unsure however if this could be slightly more reflective on deeper skin tones, but I do not look sick / grey or ashy with this sunblock on.
Swatch Comparison: No Product (Left) vs Product (Right)
Once absorbed:

As you can see this isn’t mattifying but it is not very shiny and does not make me look greasy.

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: As this is a chemical (organic) sunblock, yes this could sting sensitised skin, However this should be fine for sensitive skins.
Summer or Winter?: Both as this is lightweight and not too oily on the skin.
Layerable?: Yes.
Video Swatch:
- As you can see, this is initially a cream. It smooths out and becomes less-opaque as it spreads along the skin. This also does not look sticky and isn’t too oily/shiny on the skin (not mattifying however).
Fragrance?: Fragrance + EO Free (No strong smell).
Good Under Makeup?: Yes.
How long have I been using this?: 1-2 Months (of daily usage).
Will I use until Completion?: Yes.
How Long will that take?: ~1-2 Months (I use this everyday).
The Effect?: Both sun protected and moisturised skin. No irritation (for me), and no white cast (I don’t look severely grey or ashen).

What I like:
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Cruelty-Free
- No white cast (on my warm golden skin tone)
- Lightweight
- Moisturising
- Not sticky
- Not greasy
What I don’t like:
- Due to the inclusion of Tinosorb M, this could be slightly more reflective for deeper/darker skin tones)
- Not very mattifying (however this isn’t really shiny either for my oily-combo skin)
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4.3/5– A very nice sunblock. I think this slightly more reflective/shiny than the HaruHaru wonder sunblock for instance, but it is far less shiny than the Beauty of Joseon Sunblock (somewhere in-between). I have found this comfortable to wear for my oily-combo skin and it hasn’t caused me any issues. It is both moisturising and easy to wear even under makeup and when working out.
Would I repurchase?: Yes! As this is comfortable and did not leave my skin with a white cast.
Dupe?: The Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Sunblock texture and finish-wise, is very similar (even more lightweight) – Swatches + Review HERE.

- A slightly less-dewy dupe is the HaruHaru Wonder Sunblock (Swatches + Review HERE).

- Ingredients-wise, the JUMISO Awe-Sun Airy-Fit Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ is very similar to the Be Plain sunblock

- The Goodal Heartleaf Calming Moisture Sun Cream SPF 50 PA++++ also has a very similar ingredients list to the Be plain sunblock.

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
