First up is the THANK YOU FARMER | Sun Project Water Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++

Available at: Cult Beauty: LINK / Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK / Soko Glam: LINK / Beauty Bay: LINK

The aim of this SPF is to deeply hydrate and moisturise the skin without weighing it down or feeling sticky.

This sunblock has the rating SPF50+ PA+++ (So it is one plus less than the highest level of sun protection in terms of photo-ageing).

The Sunscreen Filters are listed on the screen now and they provide both UVA and UVB protection. And of note: This does contain Titanium Dioxide which can provide a white cast on darker skin tones. Personally I didn’t notice that much of a grey or dull look to my skin, but you can skip this if you are worried.

Sunscreen filters included are: Octinoxate (UVB), Homosalate (UVB), Octisalate (UVB),  Uvinul A Plus (UVA), Octocrylene (UVB + UVA II), Titanium Dioxide.

In terms of Key ingredients; this includes antioxidants such as Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asatica and Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil to soothe and protect the skin against further skin damage. Aloe Extract and Mistletoe extract are also included to further soothe the skin. Sunflower seed oil is also included to moisturise the skin and Hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin.

This does contain Fragrance, so the scent of this is:

As you can see from the swatch; this is a creamy moisturiser that feels moisturising on the skin. It sits under makeup fine and isn’t too greasy. Furthermore this forms a silicone-feeling barrier on top of the skin, preventing this product from moving around too much once absorbed. It doesn’t ball up either.

So, which skin type is this suited for? This is aimed at Oily skins as it’s designed to feel weightless on the skin due to that powdery finish this product has. Oily skins could wear it without looking too oily or greasy, but I do think Combination and Normal Skin types could also wear this product easily.

In terms of a dupe: the Anessa UV Sun milk has a similar powdery finish but with a higher PA rating at PA++++. The Hada Labo UV Gel is also a lightweight and hydrating dupe (See video and reviews below).

Next up is the THANK YOU FARMER | Sun Project Light Sun Essence SPF 50+ PA+++

Available at: Cult Beauty: LINK / Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK / Soko Glam: LINK / Amazon: LINK

This has a rating of SPF50+ PA+++, the same as the Water Sun Cream. This product is meant to be perfect for use as a makeup primer to smooth the skin’s texture without leaving any residue or stickiness.

The Sunscreen filters used are listed on the screen now: Octinoxate (UVB), Homosalate (UVB), Octisalate (UVB), Uvinul A Plus (UVA), Octocrylene (UVB + UVA II)

These are chemical or Organic filters so this product should not provide a white cast on the skin.

In terms of the Key ingredients, this contains Portulaca Oleracea Extract and Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil which are antioxidants, Sunflower Seed Oil is also included as it is moisturising and Aloe leaf extract is also included to soothe reddened and irritated the skin.

In terms of the scent; this contains fragrance (but isn’t overpowering).

In terms of the texture; this feels lightweight and hydrating and feels the thinnest out of all three products. It also has the dewiest or shiniest finish from the three and feels moisturising. It doesn’t ball up and layers fine and there is no white cast.

In terms of skin types; Normal, Dry and Combination skin types may prefer this over oilier skins due to the dewy and slightly greasier finish this has.

In terms of a dupe; the Beauty of Joseon SPF has that same, lightweight shiny finish and so does the Make Prem SPF.

Last but not least is the Sun Project Skin Relief Sun Cream SPF50+/PA++++

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

Out of all three products, this is the only one that is Fragrance and Essential oil free. That is because this is a sunblock aimed at sensitive skins and works to bring relief to hot, inflamed and irritated skin; using Centella Asiatica and a complex of skin-soothing ingredients such as Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract and Coptis Japonica Root Extract, to protect the skin. Adenosine is also included to support the skin’s barrier and Honeysuckle flower extract is antibacterial which helps reduce harmful bacterial growth on the skin.

Niacinamide is also included to brighten, regulate sebum and reinforce the skin’s barrier. Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, an emollient is also included.

The Sunscreen filters used are listen on the screen now:  Uvinul A Plus (UVA), Uvinul T 150 (UVB), Tinosorb M (Hybrid SPF) UVA + UVB) (partly sun reflecting; slightly whitening), Uvasorb HEB (UVA II and UVB).

Of Note: Out of all three products; this is the one that contains a Hybrid Sunscreen filter: Tinosorb M, so it partly reflects light, however on my Warm Golden Tone skin; I did not notice a white cast with this product. However, if you have a darker skin tone, you could skip this if unsure.

This has a lightweight creamy texture. It definitely feels moisturising on the skin and doesn’t feel sticky. This settles down into a slightly powdery finish and doesn’t budge and it doesn’t ball up either.

In terms of the scent; as this is fragrance and essential oil free; this simply smells of the sunscreen filters.

This product suits sensitive skin in particular, but also Normal, Dry and Combination Skins could enjoy this.

A similar textured product is the Soon Jung Director Pi collaboration SPF which is also unscented and aimed at sensitive skins. The Purito SPF is also has a similar finish.

So, when comparing these Sunscreens overall; None of them provide a white cast on my Warm Golden Undertone Skin. They are all lightweight and none of them ball up and are comfortable to wear.

The shiniest or dewiest Sunblock is the essence and it also initially feels the greasiest although it does become less greasy once fully absorbed. The other two have an almost identical textured finish. And once dried down, almost all three of these feel the exact same on the skin.

Out of all three; the water sun cream has the closest thing to a mattifying finish as it feels the most powdery once dried down. But once again, they are all comfortable and lightweight on the skin. Overall: Normal, Combination and Dry Skins could enjoy these Sunblocks the most. If you want a dewier finish, then go for the essence. If you want a creamier texture or if you have sensitive skin or if you want to go for the highest PA sun protection out of these three products; then go for the relief sun cream. The most mattifying finish is from the Sun Cream.

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
