Directions: ”Evenly apply a proper amount on face and body, particularly on areas prone to sun exposure.”

How I use it: I used this in the AM and also didn’t need to use a moisturiser if I used this because I found it moisturising enough. Although due tot his stinging my eyes, I ended up having to relegate it to an SPF for my neck and hands (and it feels very nice as an SPF hand cream. I can also use it on the neck etc because when I sweat, it doesn’t turn milky and run down the skin).

Key Ingredients: Niacinamide (Skin barrier reinforcing, anti-acne + Skin brightening). Hyaluronic Acid: Sodiym Hyaluronate + Hyaluronic Acid + Sodium Acetylhyaluronate + Hydrolysed Sodium Hyaluronate.

The fermented ingredient in here is Lactobacillus Lysate which is meant to promote the growth of positive, skin-friendly bacteria on the skin.

SPF Ingredients: Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane, Bisethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine

Full Ingredients: Water, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, PEG/PPG-30/10 Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethiconol, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Parfum(Fragrance), Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, Adenosine, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Isopentyldiol, Xylitol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glucose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Milk Protein Extract, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Propanediol, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Potassium Hyaluronate

NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE

My Thoughts: I really like the addition of Niacinamide and multiple forms of Hyaluronic acid. I don’t mind the fermented ingredients either as they work to promote skin health.

Swatch:

This definitely applied like a cream. It has a moisturising and dewy finish on the skin which can be reflected in the ingredients list. I didn’t find this product sticky or tacky either on the skin. It did make me look a bit shiny (which my sister noted when she looked at me, and I didn’t ask her).

This has a creamy texture and does not feel milky or watery like the Missha aqua sun gel (review HERE).

This is also layerable (i.e. it doesn’t ball or pill up on the skin). It has a nice, lightweight texture when spreading along the skin, you can feel that hydration. It also feels slightly cooling/refreshing when applying.

When applying at first, this has a very strong strawberry-yoghurt scent.

Spreading this out, it feels nice and lightweight on the skin. HOWEVER do not mistake this for a milk. This is definitely a cream. This did not entirely disappear into the skin like a fluid or a milk does. I could still feel it on top of the skin HOWEVER it didn’t feel uncomfortable or too silicone-y. It was a happy medium. However the shiny/dewy finish isn’t a favourite of mine.

It’s easy to spread this along the skin. There’s no rubbing or tugging. As you can see, the white is fading as it’s rubbed in more! And hopefully you can see that although this is more of a cream, it is still lightweight.

The finished product:

As you can see, there is no white cast. The finish is almost silicone-y but not. I can feel this product on the skin, but it doesn’t feel very heavy. The strawberry scent is still potent at this stage BUT it does disappear after a few minutes. The product doesn’t have a problem absorbing.

  • ALSO when sweating, this does not emulsify so, this doesn’t turn milky and slide down the face.

White cast?: No! And what’s nice is that if I sweat, this doesn’t run down my face in a milky liquid either.

Fragrance?: Yes! Smells Like Strawberry Yoghurt (quite potent). The smell does disappear once rubbed in after a few minutes.

Good Under Makeup?: Yes it’s fine under makeup (more on the dewy side)

How long have I been using this?: I used this 3 times before I had to stop (stung my eyes too much!). This stung my eyes after wearing it for a long period of time (just seeped into my eyes) and also this happens quicker if I sweat/workout. I also got my sister to try this and she hated it (stung her eyes) during and after our workout. This seemed to not work when sweating (so I could also guess when swimming as well). It gets into the eyes. So yes, I had to stop using this on the face and use it as an SPF hand cream or on the neck/ears (and I enjoy it as I find it moisturising/doesn’t dry out the skin and isn’t sticky/tacky).

The Effect?: Moisturised skin with a dewy finish (I looked dewy but I didn’t feel too oily or greasy).

What I like:

  • Moisturising
  • Didn’t dry out my skin
  • No White Cast
  • I personally enjoyed the strawberry yoghurt fragrance (it didn’t stay though)
  • Didn’t emulsify/turn milky when I sweated

What I don’t like:

  • Stung my eyes a lot! (I got my sister to try and she got the same stinging) – during and after a workout and after wearing this for a long time.
  • Dewy/Shiny Finish (I prefer matte).

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3/5 – I love that this doesn’t have a white cast. I also really did enjoy the smell of this (I didn’t realise I’d like strawberry yoghurt so much). I also like that this doesn’t feel drying and feels moisturising. But this has a shiny/dewy finish which isn’t my favourite. Also due to this painfully stinging my eyes after long periods of wear and/or working out/sweating in this, I can’t use it as a facial SPF and am using it as an SPF hand cream etc.

Would I repurchase?: No. I don’t like the dewy, almost greasy finish of his SPF and I also don’t like SPF that stings my eyes.

Dupe?: I think the better option in terms of providing a dewy (not greasy) finish is the Biore Aqua Sun Essence (Review coming soon). Or the Garnier Solaire Sun Fluid (HERE). My ultimate SPF is the Missha Aqua Sun Gel SPF (Review HERE).

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
