Price: £29.81

Volume: 50 ml

Made in: South Korea

What is it: A lightweight, non-greasy and non-oily essence (that feels like a serum), containing soothing, hydrating and skin-barrier reinforcing ingredients.

Brand Description: An essence containing 63% propolis extract and 10% royal jelly extract to help ”strengthen and soften skin.” Contains antioxidants and provides ”antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits” for improved skin. Adding lactobacillus and fermented yeast also adds hydration and helps with dullness.

So it’s all about improving the look of the skin + giving it a glow as well as hydration.

Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types

What I think: I would agree that this works for all skin types. I think especially Oily and dehydrated skins. Even combo skins would enjoy this lightweight texture and dry skins could easily sandwich this in between moisturisers.

Vegan?: No (due to propolis)

Packaging: Glass packaging with a dropper – You don’t have to squeeze to pick up product – simply press the button right at the top and the product get’s sucked up – excellent.

Directions: Apply after cleansing and toning. Pat into the skin until fully absorbed and seal in with a moisturiser.

How I use it: I use this with my Niacinamide Booster from the Inkey List! (Review HERE) I use this in the PM because that’s when I mainly use essences / serums (my AM routine is very simple)

Key Ingredients: Honey Extract – Moisturiser/Humectant. Propolis Extract + Royal Jelly are supposedly conditioning. Portulaca Oleracea Extract (antioxidant + soothing). Arginine, Glycerin (moisturiser) + Sodium Hyaluronate are NMFs. Beta-Glucan + Lactobacillus Ferment (soothing).

Full Ingredients: Propolis Extract, Honey Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Glycerin, Beta-Glucan, Lactobacillus Ferment, Saccharomyces Ferment, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium Edta, Carbomer, Arginine

NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE

Texture: Very easy to apply, rub and absorb into the skin. Doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight either. I find this is layerable under my moisturiser. No irritation either. I would say this feels more like a serum rather than an essence to me.

Transparent, lightweight and runs down the hand! I get no scent from this either.

The skin looks wet, and absorbs nicely into the skin – just give it some time to dry down. It doesn’t leave sticky / tacky residue on the skin.

Good Under Makeup?: Seems to be fine for me!

How long have I been using this?: 2 Months – Will be using to completion.

The Effect?: Hydrated skin! Doesn’t leave me with a sticky / tacky residue either.

What I like:

  • No added Fragrance / Essential Oils
  • I like the dropper (already sucks up product and has a button to dispense instead of squeezing. Also solid/type packaging (glass) – so less easy to break the dropper (I’ve had issue with Niod droppers).
  • Lightweight
  • Hydrating
  • Easily spreadable

What I don’t like:

  • Perhaps adding some emollients or some Niacinamide would have ”boosted” this essence.

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4/5 – This is a hydrating essence that isn’t sticky / balls up on me. It does what it says on the tin – it hydrates and it doesn’t irritate my skin. Has it drastically changed my skin? Not other than hydrating the skin! – So I do think if one had dehydrated skin, you could see a nice difference in the hydration levels of the skin. Also I really like the packaging, I love that kind of easy to use dropper.

Would I repurchase?: Yes I would! It has been easy to use and didn’t irritate my skin. I love non-oily and non-greasy formulas. Also I was really happy it didn’t contain fragrance / wasn’t fragrant.

Dupe?: The Wishtrend Propolis Ampoule (REVIEW HERE) – I would recommend this essence over it however Or the Cosrx Propolis TONER is more similar to the thickness of this essence (BLOG POST HERE )

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
