Review: Dr Jart Cicapair Serum

Volume: 30ml
Price: £27

What is this?: A highly concentrated, fast-acting serum that soothes skin sensitivity while calming redness and irritation. This soothing and luxurious serum is designed to calm skin irritationwith potent capsules containing centella asiatica, an Asian herbal plant commonly referred to as tiger grass that is known to aid in skin recovery. It leaves overly sensitive or red skin looking and feeling more comfortable.

Good for: – Redness – Uneven skin tone – Acne and blemishes

-(they also say anti-wrinkle and brightening perhaps due to the Niacinamide).

Directions: After cleansing, apply a moderate amount onto irritated skin. Drops will change from green to beige to even out skin tone and make skin glow beautifully before makeup application. Press cream in with warmth of hands to allow for maximum absorption.

How I use it: Post-tone I use this in my serum stage before moisturiser. I used it to calm my acne/blemishes down.

Key Ingredients: -Centella Asiatica Complex: Comforts and replenishes sensitized skin.
-Herbs Complex and Minerals Solution: Strengthen skin and relieve stresses.
-Green Energy Complex: Energies and revitalises fatigued skin.

(Holy Moly is this long!) – You can actually see that the Cica is half-way through the ingredients list!!

Fragrance?: There is a slight fragrance but NOT TOO STRONG. It’s not sickening! The irony is it smells like “grass” initially! There’s no horrible artificial sweet smell, the smell disappears for me as soon as it’s rubbed in.

Texture: Not sticky! A very luxurious serum feeling that rubs into the skin smoothly and absorbs smoothly too! It feels like water and does not stick or feel gooey.

Colour: It is green but blends into the skin. The company state it’s green to counteract redness

Packaging: love the twist-cap which also picks up product so I don’t need to put any effort into sucking up more product. The amount that is automatically picked up from the bottle is a perfect amount for the whole face, if not, more than enough! There’s no mess and it’s an easy to use dropper
The bottle is also lovely to look at and looks nice on my shelf

The Good:

  • The dropper is really easy to use (already picks up product due to the cap)
  • Did not further irritate my skin
  • Very very mild scent
  • Very unique texture – which makes it great for all skin types (extremely thin)

The Bad:

  • Very expensive for the amount
  • There is fragrance
  • No drastic change in my skin

Conclusion: Overall, a nice addition to your routine (without drastic changes), but you can get much cheaper Cica products elsewhere. That being said – the texture of this product is so unique, it was a lovely experience using such a thin yet hydrating product.

Score: 3.5/5
