What is this?:
–This Oil-free cream
-70% Birch sap: calms and treats sensitive, irritated and newly exfoliated skin.
-Helps dry skin, with zero greasy residue, calms acne-prone skin without increasing acne.
What does it do: Those who have dryness due to acne medication, winter weather or regular dry skin. I’m not sure if this is good for sensitive skin – depends if you are sensitive to essential oils.
Packaging: Plastic bottle with a pump
Good for: Dry skins, acneic skins, sensitive skins
Directions: Apple after treatment stage. Follow with SPF in the AM or last step of skincare in the PM.
How I use it: Applied like a moisturiser before sun block or in the evening as the final step in my routine. Sometimes in the evening I applied 2 layers to make a sleeping mask.
Texture: Not heavy, but not watery either. This still feels like a cream. Rubs into the skin well.
Good under makeup?: Yes it is fine.
Key Ingredients: Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Tea Tree Leaf Oil
Full Ingredients list: Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Betaine, Cetearyl Alcohol,1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Lactate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil
Lemon Peel oil can be irritating to some skins.
Fragrance: THE SMELL IS OVERPOWERING. If you like that smell then this will be fine for you – I personally don’t (so essential-oil smelling) that it put me straight off.
Good Points:
- Not a bad price
- Does what it says i.e. moisturises the skin adequately
- No bells and whistles i.e. simple
- Large volume (should last a while)
- Tea Tree Leaf oil should be good for those with acne
Bad Points:
- Don’t like the smell (so essential oil-y)
- Not a ‘luxurious’ feel
Conclusion: Overall not an expensive cream and because it’s oil-free it may be good for those whose skin doesn’t work well with oil. However the smell is overpowering. Also, I prefer more watery creams.
Overall: 3/5
Would I repurchase: No. I can’t handle the smell.
