What is it + What does it do?: This is an essence containing Niosome Panthenol to hydrate, moisturise and strengthen the skin’s barrier for long-lasting moisture.
What is a Niosome?: To put it simply, like Liposomes, Niosomes are a way to store and delivery the active ingredient into the skin. Niosomal Panthenol is more chemically stable and has a longer storage time (takes longer to degrade) compared to Liposomes (Link).
Aims: To nourish and moisturise the different layers of the skin (and especially tackle dehydrated skin) while not leaving a greasy finish.
Supposedly Good for: Dehydrated and Sensitive skin.
What I think: I would agree. I think this would also suit those with dry skins who want to add an extra layer of hydration/moisture before applying a moisturiser. Oily, Combination Skins could use this, in a lightweight skincare routine, or Dry skins could use this to add an extra layer of moisture and hydration to the skin prior to a moisturiser.
Vegan?: No.
Cruelty Free?: Still sells in China but they state they maintain that they are cruelty-free.
Eu-Allergen free?: Yes.
Malesezzia suitable?: No.
How long does it last after opening?: 12 Months.
pH: 5.5 (The skin’s pH is 4.7).
Packaging: Plastic bottle with a thin nozzle. You squeeze the bottle to dispense product out. Also comes with a screw-top cap (should not spill).
Directions: ”After cleansing and using toner, apply a moderate amount on face and dab the essence for better absorption.” (From the Website).
How I use it: I apply this in the PM. Due to the liquid-cream texture of this product, I was using this as a moisturiser, however; this slightly too tacky to use as a moisturiser so I apply this underneath a thin moisturiser as this already is quite moisturising for my oily-combination skin.
Key Ingredients: Madecassoside (Antioxidant + Soothing) / Glycerin + Ceramide NP (Skin-identical) / Panthenol + Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (Soothing).
Full Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sorbitol, Panthenol(11,000ppm), Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Ceramide NP, Madecassoside, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Carbomer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Tromethamine, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Disodium EDTA, Sorbitan Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE
Texture: This has a liquid-gel-cream hybrid type texture that is lightweight and if you see the video swatch below, this runs down the hand if you’re not careful. It feels cooling when it comes into contact with the skin and is very easy to massage into the skin. It definitely feels hydrating.
Sticky?: The more of this you add onto the skin, the more this starts to feel sticky. I would recommend applying a moisturiser on top to prevent this.
Greasy?: No.
Balls up?: If you apply a lot, this may ball up if you scratch the skin. But this doesn’t ball up the products underneath or when applying a moisturiser on top.
- As you can see, this is a milky, gel-like looking essence that honestly, looks more like a liquid gel cream.
This looks like a liquid gel-cream. It’s actually cooling when applying onto the skin, and very watery at the same time as you move this around the skin. It does not feel oily or greasy.
As you can see, this looks very hydrating! It is more a liquid-gel to me in terms of texture.
Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: If you apply this straight after shaving, it could sting. I would recommend the Geek & Gorgeous Stress Less instead (REVIEW).
Summer or Winter?: Dry Skins: All-year. Oilier Skins: If you’re using this under a moisturiser, this may be better in the cooler/dry-er months).
Layerable?: Yes (I can use a liquid toner underneath and a moisturiser on top).
Swatch Comparison: No Product (Left) VS Product (Right)
Video Swatch:
- As you can see, this has a liquid-gel texture that runs down the hand. It isn’t sticky when rubbing into the skin (but can start to be sticky if you’ve applied a lot, once it’s dried up).
Fragrance?: Fragrance + EO Free (this smells slightly plastic-y).
Good Under Makeup?: It’s fine (as long as you don’t apply way too much product that might form a sticky layer).
How long have I been using this?: 3 Months.
Will I use until Completion?: Yes.
How Long will that take?: Another 4-5 Months.
The Effect?: Hydrated and softened skin. As this is hydrating, it helps to plump up the skin and fill in dehydration lines. I didn’t find this particularly soothing, but it did not irritate or worsen my skin’s condition.

What I like:
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Hydrating
- Moisturising
- Lightweight
- Not greasy
- Didn’t irritate my skin
- Sturdy packaging
What I don’t like:
- Slightly sticky / tacky (if you add too much, or if you don’t apply a moisturiser on top)
- Slight plastic-y scent
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.9 (nearly 4) / 5 – This is a gentle, lightweight and very hydrating essence. It’s slightly basic, but it means that even sensitive skins could use this. It does what it says on the tin; which is to hydrate the skin (particularly dehydrated skins). It does smell slightly plastic–y, and can get sticky if you don’t apply a moisturiser on top, but other than that, it’s a decent essence (or liquid gel-cream) that adds an extra layer of hydration/moisture to the skin.
Would I repurchase?: If I wanted a simply hydrating liquid-gel, then yes. However I would also consider purchasing the Illiyoon Ceramide Derma Toner (dupes below) as these two have such similar textures and effects.
Dupe?: The Illiyoon Ceramide Derma Toner (Swatches + Review HERE) has a similar texture and finish (Fragrance + EO free).

- The CELIMAX – Dual Barrier Creamy Toner has a very similar ingredient list and milky texture.
Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK
- The Dr.G – Dermoisture Barrier.D Liquid Toner is also milky, liquid-y, hydrating and gentle (also fragrance + eo free).

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
