What is it?: A Gel Moisturiser meant to soothe and cool dehydrated and irritated skin (and balance the skin’s oil-moisture balance).
From the Brand: This Cream is meant to moisturise dehydrated skin and soothe irritated skin with a cooling effect. It’s supposed to help calm down redness and blemishes while balancing the skin’s oil:water balance. Do I agree? Read below to find out…
Supposedly Good for: Dehydrated Skins (And Sensitive/Irritated Skin)
What I think: I would agree with Sensitive Skins, not sure about Irritated skins. Also this definitely suits Dry Skins > Oily Skins.

Vegan?: No
Cruelty Free?: Yes
How long does it last after opening?: 12 Motnhs
pH: 5.5
Packaging: Plastic tub with a screw-top lid (didn’t come with a spatula).

Directions: ”Apply a moderate amount on face directly and dap for better adherence.”
How I use it: I applied this in the PM as I found it too thick in the AM. However I still found this too thick in the PM for my oily-combo skin (in dry weather too).
Key Ingredients: 74% Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract (Soothing), Panthenol (Soothing + Hydrating), Jojoba Seed Oil (Moisturising). Glycerin (Moisturiser)
Full Ingredients: Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Panthenol, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Glyceryl Glucoside, Beta-Sitosterol, Water, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Trideceth-10, Hydrogenated Lecithin
NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE
Texture: This looks like it would be a watery gel cream, but there is a higher ratio of emollients:hdyrators. It feels smooth on the skin however once this has set on the skin, it makes my skin feel uncomfortable (as if it’s sweating). It never fully absorbs and I don’t get a cooling sensation.
Sticky?: No
Greasy?: This isn’t greasy-feeling, but it’s heavy.
Balls up?: No

- As you can see this is a transluscent cream

- I hope you can see that slight silicone-base and that this will form a layer on the skin (doesn’t ball up however).
Swatch Comparison (no product vs product)

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: Yes
Summer or Winter?: Just for Normal-Dry Skins all Year-round.
Layerable?: Yes
Video Swatch:
- As you can see, This has a creamy texture. It’s definitely moisturising.
Fragrance?: Fragrance + EO Free
Good Under Makeup?: Yes (doesn’t ball up).
How long have I been using this?: 3 Months
Will I use until Completion?: No (too uncomfortable for my Oily-Combo Skin).
The Effect?: Definitely moisturises the skin. The brand states that this moisturises dehydrated skin and soothes irritated skin with a cooling effect: I do not feel this ”cooling effect” and also this doesn’t feel Hydrating > Moisturising and provides Oil > Water. Does this calm down redness and blemishes? I don’t think this would suit blemish-prone skin due to the quite suffocating and heavy feeling (more potential to clog pores> less potential). I definitely think this suits DRY skins that are flaky.

What I like:
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Moisturising
- Layerable (Doesn’t ball up)
- Skin-beneficial ingredients
What I don’t like:
- My skin feels like it can’t breathe after application (almost makes my skin sweat). It doesn;t feel weightless and is uncomfortable for my Oily-Combo Skin to wear
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3 (nearly a 2.9)/5 – Although I appreciate that this is Fragrance + EO Free, and there are skin-beneficial ingredients, for my Oily-Combo Skin, this does NOT have a pleasant texture. It makes my skin feel like it can’t breathe and almost makes it sweat. Definitely more suitable for Normal-Dry Skins.
Would I repurchase?: No.
Dupe?: If you have dry skin and like this kind of texture, then the Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask is a good texture dupe (Review HERE). A lighter version that’s still creamy, moisturising + hydrating are: Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: HERE or the Curel Moisture Cream: HERE.
My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
