What is it + What does it do: A Silicone-based Gel/Cream Moisturiser that aims to hydrate + soothe sensitive skin and support he skin’s barrier. Oat + Feverfew both work to ease irritation.
Supposedly Good for: Normal-Dry + Sensitive Skin
What I think: I would agree! Sensitised/Irritated Skins could enjoy this too, and Oily-Combo Skins could use this as well (in the winter).

Vegan?: No
Cruelty Free?: Aveeno sell in China, so not yet.
How long does it last after opening?: 12 Months
Packaging: Plastic tub with a screw-top lid.
Directions: Massage into cleansed skin twice a day (From the Aveeno Website).
How I use it: I apply this in the PM at the end of my skincare routine. I usually reach for it if the skin is sensitised as I like to use my Moisturisers containing actives on usual occasions. I don’t need to use a lot of product to be able to spread it along my skin (I’m not going to run out soon).
Key Ingredients: This contains Colloidal Oatmeal Powder, Extract and Oil. All three of these things soothe the skin as Oats naturally contain Avenanthramides which have potent antioxidant properties. Oat Flour helps reduce water loss through the skin and is a prebiotic that helps promote the growth of good bacteria on the skin, and Oat oil extracted from the grain is an emollient that provides lipids (fatty compounds) to the skin and support the skin’s barrier.
Ceramides are also included, which, like the Curel line – help reinforce the skin’s barrier.
Full Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Olivate, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat) Flour, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat) Extract, Chrysanthemum Parthenium Flower/Leaf/Stem Juice, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pentylene Glycol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Polyacrylamide, Dimethiconol, Sorbitan Olivate, Synthetic Beeswax, Laureth-7, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Sodium Metabisulfite, Tocopherol, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate
NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE
Texture: The brand describes this as a fast-absorbing formula and I would agree.
Sticky or Tacky?: No because due to the silicone, this sort of smoothes out into a powder (Think – The Ordinary’s Suspensions).
Greasy Finish?: Not like Vaseline. Still a comfortable finish.
Thick or Thin?: It’s thin due to the silicones (i.e. it’s lightweight) but there isn’t a lot of water in here so it’s not a watery formula and therefore may still be more suitable to Normal / Dry + Combo Skins > Oily Skins.

As you can see this is a translucent cream.

As you can see, this is a creamy moisturiser! It’s not too thick or heavy and the finish is lightweight due to the silicone. It doesn’t have a cooling feeling on the skin like a watery gel provides, but it definitely still provides a soothing effect due to the Oat + Feverfew.
Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: No! That’s why this is good for Sensitised + Irritated Skin.
Summer or Winter?: Good Winter Moisturiser for Oily/Combo Skins + Good for Dry Skins in the Summer + Winter!
Layerable?: Seems fine but I wouldn’t put it under makeup just in case.
Video Swatch:
Fragrance?: No added Fragrance and/or EO (This has a faint Oat scent).
Good Under Makeup?: Due to the silicone base, I wouldn’t use this under makeup.
How long have I been using this?: 3 Months.
Will I use until Completion?: Yes!
The Effect?: Moisturised Skin that’s also soothed. (not cooled, but soothed).

What I like:
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Lightweight
- Great for if/when the skin is irritated/sensitised
- Did not irritate my skin
- Moisturising
What I don’t like:
- Not Hydrating enough (I.e Oil > Water)
- Might ball up Under Makeup (Hence why I suggest it as a PM Moisturiser)
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.9 (nearly a 4) / 5 – A good decent, basic Moisturiser that is EXCELLENT for if/when the skin is irritated/sensitised! I don’t really reach for it if the skin isn’t irritated as I prefer Moisturisers that contain actives or Skin-improving ingredients i.e. Purito + Cosrx, but it’s a great option when my skin can’t handle actives!
Would I repurchase?: Yes (good for if/when the skin is irritated!).
Dupe?: In terms of Creams / Gels for Irritated/Sensitised Skins: The Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream (Review HERE) + The SVR Sensifine Soothing Gel (Review HERE)
My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
