Superdrug – Deep Action extreme Target Solution with AHA and Lactic Acid

Superdrug have released a new acne-solution line called: ‘Deep Action Extreme’ – this is an extension of their Deep Action range to fight acne.

The specific product I have is called Deep Action Extreme – Targeted Solution with AHA and Lactic Acid.

‘Formulated to help reduce the appearance of spots, redness and blemishes, promoting clearer-looking skin after 2 weeks of use. Tested on spot prone skin and combo skin.

The Supderdrug website has products from the line: HERE , HERE and HERE

NOTE: I can’t find this product yet online.

What it does: Helps reduce the appearance of redness and blemishes.

Superdrug state that these actives are strong and increases ones sensitivity to the sun – so wear sun screen.

Volume: 15ml

Made in: The UK

Packaging: In an easy-to-use tube format. The silicone tip makes it easy to push out the product, direct it onto a blemish and apply.

Of note: Cruelty Free AND the packaging are widely recyclable.

Directions: Apply Twice daily onto cleansed skin – apply onto your spots and blemishes. Avoid the eye area. Let the solution absorb fully (I think this did absorb very quick and easily into the skin).

Texture: Feels like a gel (not watery at all)- did not sting or burn my skin (which surprised me).

It’s a light gel-like texture with a bit of a silicone slip.
Disappears after rubbing in.

Smell?: Has that classic vinegar-type smell.

Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Witch Hazel, Bark Leaf/Twig extract, Glycolic Acid, Ammonium, Acryloyldimethyltaurate / VP Copolymer, C12-15, Alkyl Benzoate, PEG/PPG-18/18, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Zinc PCA, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethyl Trisiloxane, Nylon-12, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Lactic Acid, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate.

My thoughts: The Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid are AHAs (so should help with skin exfoliation) and the Witch Hazel is an notable acneic skin-fighting ingredient. I think this could help with pimples as long as you don’t over apply it onto skin that isn’t blemished. Seems quite potent although I don’t know the %. I also don’t know if this would do a lot for deep cystic acne.

Vegan friendly.

Overall: I think this product will be good to spot-treat any pimples that are arising or fully formed.
