Price: £15.63

Volume: 50ml

Made in: South Korea

What is it?: An SPF50, broad spectrum sunblock that uses chemical (organic) filters to protect the skin. It is said to have a lightweight (airy) formula that absorbs quickly, leaving no white cast or greasy, sticky residue. This also contains Aloe Vera and Damask Rose to soothe and hydrate the skin,

Aims to: Soothe, moisturise and control sebum. Even out the skin’s tone and brighten it.

Supposedly Good for: All Skin Types.

What I think: I think Oily, Combination and Oily-Combination skins would particularly enjoy this sunblock. Sensitive skins may not enjoy the fragrance in here (look below to see the fragrant ingredients).

My Favourite Sunblocks for OIly + Combination Skins:

Vegan?: No.

Cruelty Free?: Still sells in China.

How long does it last after opening?: 12 Months.

Packaging: Plastic tube with a screw-on lid. This came with a hygiene tab you had to pull off at the tip. This has a thin tip (easy to apply)/ This isn’t messy to apply.

Directions: ”Use in the last step of your morning skincare routine. Apple onto the face and neck and avoid the eyes. Re-apply this throughout the day if there is prolonged sun exposure.” (From the Website).

Does this sting the eyes?: No.

Does this turn milky if you sweat?: No.

Sunscreen Filters: Octocrylene 8% (UVB + UVAII filter that is quite photostable) It’s used to stabilise other photo-unstable filters like Avobenzone (and it can also help improve the water resistance), Homosalate (8%), Avobenzone (3%). These are chemical (organic) sunblocks.

Texture: This has a creamy texture that is moisturising! It’s easy to spread this along the skin and once it settles, it forms an almost ”powdery” layer on top of the skin that keeps the product in place and also 1. Reduces shine and 2. lightly mattifies the skin. This feels comfortable on my oily-combination skin, even when working out- I don’t look extra shiny or greasy (UK – Winter time).

Sticky?: No. This has a powdery, almost mattifying effect.

Greasy?: No.

Balls up?: Did not ball up for me (But it can collect in DRY SPOTS on the skin. Hence why Oily skins > Dry Skins).

  • As you can see, this has a creamy texture and is moisturising when rubbing into the skin. The more and more you rub this in, first, it looks to have a white cast, but then- it absorbs into the skin and becomes transparent. This doesn’t look very greasy or dewy on the skin.

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: Yes.

Summer or Winter?: Oily, Oily-Combination and Combination skins may prefer this all year round.

Layerable?: Yes (didn’t ball up for me).

Finish comparison: No Product (Left) VS Product (Right)

  • This forms a powdery finish on the skin and becomes less shiny as it absorbs into the skin and forms a film on top.

Video Swatch:

  • As you can see, this is a moisturising cream that looks white first, but then it blends into the skin (I don’t look pale and I have Golden-Warm toned skin).

Fragrance?: Yes, this contains numerous fragrant ingredients, boosting the chance of this sunblock irritating sensitive and sensitised skins: Orange Peel Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Bergamot Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Rose Geranium Flower Essential Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree, Leef Oil, Lime Oil, Clove Leaf Oil, Lippia Citriodora Leaf Extract, Mountain Arnica Extract.

Good Under Makeup?: Yes (Unless you have dry skin).

How long have I been using this?: 2-3 Months.

Will I use until Completion?: Yes.

How Long will that take?: Another 2-3 Months (daily use).

The Effect?: 1. Sun protected skin 2. Moisturised skin 3. Lightly Mattified skin (powdery effect/film forms on top of the skin). This provides a comfortable protection on the skin.

What I like:

  • Moisturising
  • No white cast
  • Lightweight (comfortable)
  • Didn’t ball up
  • Lightly mattifying (good for oilier skins) powdery finish

What I don’t like:

  • Many fragrant/perfuming ingredients (I don’t like the scent either i.e. lemon-y, and quite potent)
  • Clings too/balls up on dry areas of the face (so not too good with dry skin) i.e. it balls up at the nose if you’re not careful
  • Not very hydrating (but it is moisturising and doesn’t dry me out – Oily-Combination Skin)

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4(nearly 3.9)/5 – I’ve been quite surprised by this sunblock! No, I’m not a fan of it being fragranced (I don’t like that lemony scent), but I like that it’s quite moisturising, doesn’t give my warm-golden skin tone a white cast, and that it provides a lightly mattifying, powdery finish, so I don’t look greasy during a workout (Oily-Combination Skin). I don’t think Dry skins (as it wouldn’t be moisturising enough and may cling to dry spots) would enjoy this sunblock (or very sensitive skins), but Oilier skins may prefer this (check out my dupe suggestion below for more Oily + Oily-Combination Skin sunblock recommendations). It’s not hugely hydrating, but at least my skin doesn’t feel painfully dry after using it.

Would I repurchase?: I would, as it’s quite comfortable for my oily-combination skin, while not totally drying out my skin (even if I’m not a fan of the fragrance). I like the powdery finish.

Dupe?:This is very similar to both of the Anessa sunblocks (Review Video below), because they both have a powdery finish (good for oilier skins).

  • The HaruHaru Wonder – Black Rice Airylift Daily sunscreen has a velvety (almost powdery) finish (Swatches + Review HERE). It is Fragrance + EO Free, Vegan + Cruelty-Free.

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

  • The Garnier – BHA + Niacinamide Daily UV Sun Fluid is lightweight and has a lightly mattifying (not powdery) finish. Check out the Swatches + Review Video below.

Garnier Sunblock Review (For Oily + Combination Skin):

  • The Biore UV – Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++ is lightweight, watery and dries down into a more matte finish (more suited towards oilier skins). It is a bit more silicone heavy, but still lightweight (contains ethanol).

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

  • The Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence is quite comfortable for Oily-Combination and Combination Skins. It’s moisturising while still being lightweight (didn’t make me look greasy). Swatches + Review in the review video below.

Numbuzin Skincare Brand Review:

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
