Directions: ”Spread an appropriate amount on the face and body before applying makeup and re-apply whenever necessary” (From the Website).

How I use it: I apply this in the AM. As I have oily-combination skin, in the summer, I do not feel the need to apply a moisturiser under this. I can either apply this using the three-finger method or a spoon, and this doesn’t immediately run down the hand.

Does this sting the eyes?: No.

Does this turn milky when sweating?: No.

Sunscreen Filters: Ethylhexyl Triazone (Uvinul T 150), Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid (Mexoryl SX), Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus – UVA), Polysilicone-15 (Parsol SLX – UVB), Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S – UVA + UVB).

Key Ingredients: Niacinamide (Moisturising + Antioxidant + Brightening + Anti-blemish) + Amur Cork Tree Bark Extract (Anti-blemish and Antioxidative) / Adenosine (Wound-healing + Anti-inflammatory) / Sophora Flavescens Root Extract (Antioxidant) / Skullcap Root Extract (Soothing, Antioxidant, Antibacterial + Moisturising) / Hyaluronic Acid (Hydrating) / Ulmus Extract + Pueraria Lobata Root Extract (Moisturising).

As you can see, this contains quite a few soothing and hydrating ingredients that also provide some antioxidative or anti-blemish qualities.

NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE

Texture: This is a lightweight gel-cream that feels cooling when rubbing into the skin. This doesn’t feel very silicone-y and glides very smoothly and silkily along the skin. It does not feel chalky at all. I would agree that this dos not leave clumps (See swatch video below).

Sticky?: No.

Greasy?: No.

Balls up?: No.

  • As you can see, this initially has a gel-cream texture (opaque). Initially, this feels cooling when rubbing in.

I hope you can see how lightweight this is and how quickly this turns ”invisible”

No Product (Left) VS Product (Right)

Initially, this seems to have quite a shiny finish, but it eases down once this has absorbed into the skin (fine for my oily-combination skin in the summer) This is not mattifying however.

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: Yes.

Summer or Winter?: Oily Skins: All year. Dry Skins: Summer.

Layerable?: Yes.

Video Swatch:

  • As you can see, this looks like a lightweight gel cream. It initially looks glossy, but then it sinks into the skin and absorbs and I do NOT look greasy in hot weather.

Fragrance?: This contains Fragrance. The scent is ”grassy” which isn’t my favourite, but it does dissipate once rubbed in.

Good Under Makeup?: Yes.

How long have I been using this?: 3 Months.

Will I use until Completion?: Yes.

How Long will that take?: Another 2 Months (I use this daily and also use it on the neck).

The Effect?: Initially; this feels cooling when rubbing into the skin. It feels moisturising, and once absorbed- initially this looks a bit shiny, but then it absorbs and this doesn’t look dewy on my oily-combination skin. I don’t feel very moisturising (as this is a gel-cream and not a full-cream), but I also do not feel like this is drying out my skin. I would recommend dry skins apply a moisturiser underneath, but this has been fine for my oily-combination skin in the summer.

What I like:

  • Cruelty-Free
  • Lightweight
  • Hydrating/Moisturising
  • No white cast
  • Doesn’t ball up
  • Doesn’t sting my eyes
  • Sturdy (doesn’t spill) and easy to travel with packaging
  • Didn’t worsen my skin’s condition
  • Very lightweight without containing denatured alcohol/ethanol

What I don’t like:

  • Contains Fragrance (and I’m not the biggest fan of the grassy scent)
  • Not as thick/moisturising for Dry skins
  • Very oily skins in the summer may still find this too dewy

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4.1/5 – I have enjoyed using this lightweight, lightly hydrating/moisturising sunblock for my oily-combination skin in the summer. It doesn’t ball up and sits fine under makeup, and I can re-apply when needed. I appreciate that there is no white cast. I’m not the biggest fan of the scent of this (smells a bit like grass), but this is so comfortable to wear, that I can forego it.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

Dupe?: The Numbuzin Calming Water sunscreen is just as lightweight (Full Swatches + Review in the Youtube Video below). Alcohol free, Fragrance + EO Free + No white cast.

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

  • The Haruharu Wonder Sunblock is fragrance + EO Free, Vegan + Cruelty-Free (Swatches + Review HERE) and is creamy yet lightweight and has no white cast (no alcohol and is unscented).

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

  • The Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is relatively similar (Swatches + Review HERE) as is has a similar ”cooling” and lightweight texture (no white cast). However the Biore sunblock contains alcohol.

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

  • The Nivea Japan – UV Super Water Gel EX SPF 50+ PA++++ also has a similar gel-cream texture that is both lightweight and cooling (no white cast). However, this contains alcohol.

Available at: Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
