Texture: Feels like a lightweight, gel-cream that instantly feels cooling when applying onto the skin (could be due to the alcohol but I’m not going to lie, it’s a cooling feeling). I want to note that this does not feel really drying on the skin and I don’t feel tight wearing it throughout the day (Oily-Combo Skin).

Mattifying?: Not very mattifying but this isn’t a shiny/dewy finish either. (I don’t look sweaty).

Sticky?: No.

Greasy?: No.

Balls up?: No.

  • As you can see this starts off as an opaque cream but blends out.

Fully Absorbed

  • As you can see there is no shine or white cast.

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: Yes (As this is a chemical SPF).

Summer or Winter?: My Oily-Combo Skin has been able to wear this in the Summer Months and not found it too heavy or greasy-feeling. May not be moisturising enough for Dry Skins during the Winter Months.

Layerable?: Yes.

Video Swatch:

  • As you can see, this starts off a white cream and then smooths out nicely into a lightweight film. It doesn’t feel very silicone-y and it also doesn’t look too shiny or have a whitecast.

Fragrance?: Yes, this contains Lavender Essential Oil (And smells like it).

Good Under Makeup?: Yes (Didn’t ball up).

How long have I been using this?: 2-3 Months.

Will I use until Completion?: Yes.

How Long will that take?: 2-3 More uses.

The Effect?: Immediately: Moisturised Skin. Long-Term: SPF protection.

What I like:

  • Fragrance + EO Free
  • Hydrating / Moisturising
  • Lightwegith
  • No White Cast
  • Doesn’t Ball Up
  • Didn’t sting / irritate my skin

What I don’t like:

  • The Sent (Scented i.e. contains Lavender oil)
  • Contains Alcohol (However I do understand it helps keep the formula lightweight and easily spreadable and smooth + reduces chances of balling up, but I thought I would mention it)

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 4/5 – A very nice, well-suited sunblock for me (Oily-Combo Skin) even during the summer. Yes this isn’t as light as liquid SPFs, but this is still lightweight for a cream. I appreciate that it doesn’t make me look extremely sweaty and that this doesn’t give my Warm-Golden Skin Tone a white cast. My skin doesn’t feel painfully dry when wearing this and I can re-apply. I would prefer this to be unscented however and the denatured alcohol (although I understand it is used to make his formula smooth and not ball up) is in there.

Would I repurchase?: Yes.

Dupe?: The Etude Soon Jung X Director’s Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ has a moisturising texture (albeit slightly dewier), (Swatches + Review HERE)

  • The Boots – Soltan Age Defence SPF50+ (UVA/UVB protection), is just as lightweight (also slightly more dewier), (Swatches + Review HERE)

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
