Hey everyone!
I recently got my hands on the popular K-pop idol; Le Sserafim Chaewon’s K-Beauty Skincare Routine and I’m so excited to share my thoughts with you! Chaewon’s ‘’baby-soft’’ skin is highly sought after, and I couldn’t wait to see what all the hype was about when testing out her routine.
The routine includes a total of 6 products, all of which are designed to provide hydration, brightening, and anti-aging benefits. I was impressed by some of the products included in the routine, from the makeup removers to the serum and the cream, Swatching each product was pleasant – they applied smoothly and absorbed well into my skin. Most of the products were unscented too which suits my skincare routine. However not all the products suited my Oily-Combo Skin and so I suggest which products suit different skin types better.

Quick Review: After using Le Sserafim Chaewon’s K-Beauty Skincare Routine for a week, I must say, I enjoyed the results. My skin felt plump, hydrated, and looked noticeably brighter. I especially loved the serum – it was lightweight and didn’t leave a sticky residue on my skin. As someone with oily skin, I appreciate products that don’t feel heavy or greasy.
Overall, I highly recommend Le Sserafim Chaewon’s K-Beauty Skincare Routine if you’re looking for products that provide hydration, brightening, and anti-aging benefits. Have you tried Le Sserafim Chaewon’s skincare routine? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Hey Guys and Welcome back to the Channel! This is Hannah from the Instagram: Myskincareregime, where I post about Skincare Products I’m currently using. I also have a Blog where I write in-depth skincare reviews, for which the link will be down below. I’m coming in with another K-pop Inspired Skincare Video; where we’re reviewing Le Sserafim’s Leader; Chaewon’s Skincare Routine she showed in a Vlog. Of course, Idols see Dermatologists and get skincare treatments done with heavy duty lasers and retinols, but it’s still important what they use on their skin every day to not aggravate their skin. So, let’s try out these products; see what the texture looks like, what are the hits and misses and if there are any alternative or similar products you can use.
Now, let’s get on with the video!
First up: Chaewon cleanser her face with this cleanser which is quite popular in Korea and it’s the Dokdo Cleanser from the brand Round Lab. She foams it up before applying onto the face which is a good technique to avoid pulling out too much oil from the skin, avoiding that feeling of tightness. This foaming cleanser can be used in both he AM and PM.
It’s a basic; simple cleanser that aims to hydrate the skin while cleansing it; containing hydrating and moisturising ingredients like Ceramide NP, Hyaluronic Acids, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Amino acids and Allantoin, to also soothe the skin. Sea Water, Sugars and Glutamic Acid are also included to hydrate the skin. Attention however; this does contain Matricia Flower Oil which is an essential oil; so please be weary if you are reactive to essential oils. It doesn’t really give off much of scent to me however.
As you can see from the texture; this starts off as an opaque cream. And as you can see; it foams up easily when water is added, it turns milky and is easy to wash off. But does this wash off makeup? Chaewon does use it as part of her makeup removal process, and when I test it out on my hand, you can see it’s not extremely efficient.
So, does this dry out the skin? On a scale from 1-10 in my experience (I have dehydration-prone skin), I would give this a 5-6, so almost in the middle. In terms of giving my skin a tight feeling after cleansing. I do think Normal-Oily Skins would prefer using this over Dry skins. An alternative is the CeraVe Hydrating Foam Cleanser, which also foams up but is fragrance and essential oil free. Or the Geek and Gorgeous Jelly Joker.
Now, onto the toning stage which is from the K-beauty brand: Manyo Factory. This is their Fragrance and Essential Oil Free; Bifida Biome Ampoule Toner. This daily-use AM and PM Toner comes in a big bottle! It’s part of the Bifida Biome Line which includes Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate; a skin conditioner meant to hydrate and soothe the skin. Lactobionic acid and Lactobacillus ferment extract are exfoliating, helping to improve the feel and look of the skin.
This also includes multiple Hyaluronic Acid forms to hydrate the skin in and out, and numerous sugars to pull water into the skin. Soothing ingredients such as Panthenol, Betaine and Allantoin are included. Of Note: Willow Bark is included which is an astringent; it works to suck up excess oil from the skin; which is great for oilier skins or those who don’t want a dewy look; but dry skins could potentially, in the long-run; find this slightly drying. Furthermore, if you look at the texture; this is a watery and lightweight toner that isn’t greasy or sticky; so once again, oily skins may prefer this over dry skins. An alternative for oilier skins would be The Isntree Green Tea Fresh toner if you want a toner that will reduce excess oil on the skin. If you want a toner that contains Sacharomyces Ferment Filtrate; then the Missha First Treatment essence is an alternative. And Dry skins may prefer the Anua Birch Moisture Toner which is thicker and more moisturising and hydrating.
So now, Chaewon has prepped her skin, she moves onto her serum or treatment stage which is also from Manyo Factory; and that is the Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule! This daily-use serum like the toner, contains Sacharomyces Ferment Filtrate, but in a higher amount to soothe the skin even further. Other key Ingredients include: Niacinamide, Copper Tripeptide-1 and Argireline which all work to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles! Cacao Seed Extract, Caffeine, EGCG and Stem Cell Extract provide antioxidative, protective qualities to the skin. This also includes squalane, and numerous forms of Hyaluronic Acid; to hydrate the skin both in and out. So it’s a hydrating and well-ageing formula.
And as you can see from the texture; this is slightly gloopy; it’s a gel-like serum that’s thicker than the toner, but doesn’t have a greasy finish. It could feel tacky if too much product is added, but with just the right amount, it’s comfortable on the skin. This serum is suitable for all skin types, but Dehydration-prone and ageing skins could also enjoy this.
A K-beauty alternative is the Isntree Bifida Ampoule which I have reviewed in this video (link in bio) as it too also contains the same well-ageing ingredients like Niacinamide, Copper Tripeptide, Argireline and with the added Biopeptide El.
So once Chaewon has cleansed, toned and prepper her skin; it’s time to move onto the final step of her routine which is moisturisation, to seal it all in! She uses the Etude; Soon Jung Centella 5-Panthensoside Cica Balm! This is similar to the Soon Jung Balm, but now with Cica! And if you’ve seen my Apieu Twice Skincare Review Video; then you’ll know why and how Cica is an effective ingredient at soothing inflamed skin. And this balm contains 5% Cica Extract including both Madecassoside and Asiaticoside; to reinforce the skin’s resilience to environmental aggressors. Green Tea Extract is also included as it provides antioxidant, protective benefits. Squalane, Panthenol and Glucose are also included to soothe and hydrate the skin.
As you can see from the texture; this is more emollient than it is watery. It’s not sticky or tacky; and sits on top of the skin like a balm; holding moisture in. It does feel slightly tacky if I press my hand against my cheek and is not as creamy as a moisturiser. Overall: Dry skins may prefer this finish over oily skins, and sensitive or sensitised skins could also enjoy this fragrance and essential oil free balm.
Alternatives to this balm are: The Purito Dermide Balancing Balm, or the Rovectin Cica Care Balm as that also contains Cica.
Judging from this Routine; It seems like Chaewon is into soothing, hydrating and somewhat protecting her skin against environmental aggressors; such as the heavy-duty makeup idols must wear all the time under the hot lights and sweat.
Overall: My favourite product and the one I’d recommend is the Serum. I like it’s well-ageing benefits as well as the texture of it and how it hydrates my Oily-Combination Skin. The toner would suit Oily skins and those in hot or humid weathers; if you like Witch Hazel in your toners. The cleanser does contain essential oils but other than that it’s a simple, foaming cleanser that gets the job done i.e. it cleanses. I do think Oily skins would prefer it over dry skins overall. The balm is not too thick, but it is more emollient than it is watery, so Normal-Dry skins may prefer it.
Of course, my opinion of these products could change over time; so I recommend you stay tuned on the Blog for my In-depth Skincare Reviews. And that’s it for this video! I hope you enjoyed it, and if you did – please make sure to give it a big-old thumbs up, and subscribe today for future content! I’ll see you in the next one, Bye!

Products Mentioned:
Mandom – Bifesta Micellar Eye Makeup Remover: On Yesstyle: LINK / On Stylevana: LINK
-Chaewon used this in her first step of makeup removal. Personally I don’t use micellar waters so it would be a waste to purchase a product. But for those who wear heavy waterproof makeup, this could be a great first step to dissolve eye makeup (just be weary of the alcohol content in case you are sensitive).
A’PIEU – Pore King Minji Cleansing Oil: Available at Yesstyle: LINK / Stylevana: LINK
-This Pore King Minji Cleansing Oil from A’pieu was anothr product used by Chaewon to initially help dissolve her makeup. I opted out of this due to the inclusion of Essential oils which I am not a fan of personally; but I’m sure it smells divine; and the oil composition along with surfactants of this product, means that it should be a great makeup-melting oil (and it also helps with blackheads).
CERAVE – Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser: Available at Ulta: LINK / Dermstore: LINK / Beauty Bay: LINK
-An alternative to the Round Lab Cleanser was this CeraVe Foaming Cleanser as it is slightly less stripping on the skin. I would also highly recommend the Hada Labo Foaming Cleanser (Doesn’t strip the skin): LINK.
Kose Softmyo Speedy Cleansing Oil: Swatches + Review: LINK
-The Kose Softmyo Cleansing Oil is a nice alternative to the A’pieu Minji Cleansing oil as it’s fragrance and essential-oil free and dissolves makeup ”speedily”.

My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
