Vegan?: No
Cruelty-Free?: Aveeno sell in China 😦
How long does it last after opening?: 6 Months
Packaging: Glass bottle with a pump – very easy and pleasant to use.
Directions: Apple 2-3 pumps and massage after cleansing and before moisturising. Can be used x2 a day (AM and PM).
How I use it: I apply this preferably in the PM (Oily-Combo Skin), right before a Moisturiser. No layering issues. 2 Pumps can cover the face and an extra pump for the neck. I like to apply this every other day. But I particularly like to apply this if/when the skin is irritated and/or sensitised as it works best then.
Key Ingredients: Prebiotic Oat (Oat Extract + Colloidal Oatmeal) – these contain Avenanthramides which exhibit antioxidant properties (help calm the skin). Colloidal oatmeal encourages the growth of good bacteria on the skin, which should also help reduce potential inflammation. Oat Oil – rich in lipids (fatty compounds) to help reinforce the skin’s barrier. Ceramides – also help improve the skin’s barrier + prevent water loss.
Feverfew – Antioxidant that helps soothe + protect the skin.
Full Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat) Oil, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat) Flour, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat) Extract, Chrysanthemum Parthenium Flower/Leaf/Stem Juice, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethiconol, Pentylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Succinoglycan, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl AcrylateCrosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Sodium Metabisulfite, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate
NOTE: The Incidecoder have a full ingredient breakdown HERE
Texture: A very nice soothing texture. It definitely feels both moisturising and hydrating! A much more pleasant texture than the toner.
Does this feel sticky/tacky once dried down?: No.
Does this feel thick?: No. This is a lightweight gel serum that can spread easily along the skin!
Aveeno state that this is a lightweight and fast-absorbing serum. Yes this is lightweight and yes it does absorb quite nicely but you still have a nice glow or sheen to the skin after applying (Check my Swatch Video below!).

As you can see, this has a nude colour due to the ingredients.

Does this Sting if the Skin has been Irritated / Sensitised by Shaving/Heavy Retinol Use?: No.
Summer or Winter?: Easy to use all-year.
Layerable?: Yes.
Video Swatch:
As you can see this is a lightweight and hydrating Serum!
Fragrance?: No added Fragrance or EO (This just smells like oats).
Good Under Makeup?: Yes this is fine.
How long have I been using this?: 3-4 Months (Until completion as I enjoyed using this almost daily!)
Will I use until Completion?: Yes! This is now an empty.
The Effect?: Hydrated + (lightly moisturised) + Soothed skin

What I like:
- Fragrance + EO Free
- Lightweight
- Hydrating
- Good for Sensitive + Sensitised Skin
- Does calm down the skin
What I don’t like:
- Perhaps a little too basic and the addition of Niacinamide etc would have been nice HOWEVER I understand that this is aimed at sensitised skins which would prefer a more basic formulation
Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.9 (nearly a 4)/5 – A nice, soothing and refreshing serum! Yes it’s a little basic, but it is great for Sensitised Skins! Definitely works best for if and when the skin is irritated, however it does also work as a nice hydrating serum, especially for oily skins to use in the summer even as a lightweight, watery gel moisturiser! I think Dry skins would enjoy this under a cream.
Would I repurchase?: Yes.
Dupe?: Although it doesn’t contain Oats, the La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Serum is similar in texture AND works well for sensitised skin (Review HERE).
My Skin Type: I am acne prone and have slightly dehydrated combo skin. My skin is usually tight where the cheeks and eye area is and the outer parts of my face. My T zone is oily. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up. My skin doesn’t like essential oils either and I try to avoid fragrance when I can.
