Where to buy: You can purchase from Yesstyle, Affiliate Link: HERE

Price: £25 (for 350ml)

Volume: 350ml – there is also a bottle that is 150ml

Made in: South Korea

Product Description: A Moisturising toner to reduce irritation. (NOTE: As long as you don’t get irritation from essential oils).

This toner is supposed to bring your skin to a ‘comforting’ pH level (5.5 – sub acidic pH level) and replenish the oil-water balance of your skin at the start of your skincare routine. Supposed to also make your skin look dewy.

Provides antioxidant capabilities of blueberries – 1000mg of blueberry fruit extract.

Who is it for?: People who aren’t sensitive to essential oils. Dehydrated skin (over dry skin – as I think dry skins may prefer something heavier/gloopier. If you like watery, light (not deep) hydration then this could be a toner for you.

Could be good for those in humid weather.

Packaging: Plastic bottle (also provides a space for you to write the date when you opened it to keep track. Also has a flip top cap – love this. Makes it easy to apply onto a cotton pad – I think all watery toners should have this.

Directions: ‘After cleansing, damp a cotton pad and gently wipe along skin texture, or take an adequate amount then apply on face and neck. Lightly dab to help the skin absorb.’

How I use it: After cleansing I apply onto a pad and swipe over my skin – I use this to remove excess dirt on the first swipe and then I apply another layer of this for hydration.

NOTE: Skincarisma have a full ingredients list breakdown: HERE

Fragrance?: Yes – can’t stand the essential oil smell. Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil (Skin Conditioning) / Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil (Skin Conditioning, Fragrance). It really, really puts me off.

Texture: Very watery / light – absorbs fast. No stickiness.

How long have i been using this?: For about 3 weeks now.

The effect?: This resulted in hydrated skin – simple. A great toner which worked under my other skincare products / layers. The main reason why I use this product is for the hydrating ingredients and because it’s good to swipe off the dirt from my face without using a micellar water which risks damaging the skin barrier. In terms of the antioxidant effect, absolutely would add another powerful antioxidant like vitamin C / superoxide dismutase on top rather than just depending on this.

Good under Makeup?: Yes.

What I like:

  • I like the packaging – the bottle is easy to dispense product onto a cotton pad
  • Did not sting / burn or irritate my skin
  • Hydrating (not overly hydrating however).
  • I’m not sure about the science/strength of the blueberry extract providing antioxidant benefits, but if it provides any small bit of antioxidant effects, then I’m happy for the added benefit.
  • I like that it’s extremely light / watery and not gloopy – good for the summer (doesn’t make me feel sticky/sweaty).
  • Layerable

What I don’t like:

  • Smell of essential oils – a massive negative for me.
  • It needs to be layered in order to provide further hydration i.e. one layer isn’t enough to make my skin feel quenched.

Rating and Conclusion: 3.5/5 – Really not a fan of the fragrance. I don’t feel fully hydrated after using this – but usually I layer products on top. I mainly use this to wipe off dirt and prep my skin for the rest of my routine, so it doesn’t have to be extremely hydrating for me. But if that is what you want from this product, then it may not be ideal. I’m giving it this score because the fragrance took a point off and then 1/2 a point for not being as hydrating as other toners I’ve tried.

Would I repurchase?: I would if this didn’t have fragrance/essential oils – because I like the light hydration it provides and being able to swipe excess dirt off my face.
