Price: £20.45 (on Yesstyle)
Volume: 170ml
What does it do:
-Contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid – to penetrate deeply and moisturise (The premium contains 5 types of HA which is the same as the NIOD MMHC) Purchase the Premium HERE
-Leaves the skin soft, supple and firm by binding water to the skin.
-Weakly acidic (not alkaline) and low irritation.
-No fragrance. No oil, no alcohol.
Made in: Japan
Who should it suit?:
All Skin Types
Packaging: Not the absolute best because I always put too much for myself and have to dab onto my neck. A little goes a long way (especially for those with oily skin). It has a flip cap lid in a large bottle. All in Japanese FYI.
Directions:
-Can use daily.
-Sometimes the instructions say apply after toner, and some say apply it straight after cleansing.
HOWEVER – this does say that it helps with the absorption of further products SO perhaps using it straight after cleansing would make it more effective.
(Personally, I have used it like a toner and a serum – I’m not fussed).
How I use it:
I apply this morning and night. After cleansing, swipe on with a cotton pad (as stated before, I have used this like a serum – not fussed).
This does ball up/pill for me. So I try to minimise the steps after using this. So if I’m using this as a toner, then my next step is a moisturiser/SPF. If I rub my skin after this has dried, it pills.
I can also use this as a DIY moisture mask using ½ cotton pads and soaking them with this lotion.
Key ingredients: Hyaluronic acid – hydrate and plump the skin. Good for hot and humid weathers. Not so much for dry weather (there’s always that fear that HA will pull moisture out from your skin).

Texture:
Liquid (not as thin as water – nearly like a gel). On my instagram – there are videos of my using the product.
-Absorbs quite quickly
-Hydrates my skin
Good under makeup?:
THIS BALLS UP FOR ME. If I rub my skin, this will ball up. I can’t wear it under foundation personally.
Full Ingredients list: water, butylene glycol, glycerin, disodium succinate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, hydroxyethycellulose, methylparaben, PPG-10 methyl glucose ether, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, sodiumhyaluronate and succinic acid.
Fragrance: None
Good Points:
- Hydrates
- Large volume
- No fragrance
- Can use as a DIY moisture mask
Bad Points:
- Pills / balls up (discouraging me to use it more)
Conclusion: This is a good HA serum but for me personally. The fact that it pills/balls up really, really REALLY irks me. So I would not repurchase. I would get another HA product that does not pill – perhaps the Hada Labo Premium lotion would be better – seeing as the NIOD MMHC does not ball up for me.
Overall: 3.5/5
