Review: Vichy Laboratories Mineralizing Thermal Water

Review / Thoughts on the Vichy Thermal Water Spray:

Packaging: Metal Can – it does look ‘chique’

Purpose: ‘To strengthen the skin’s barrier function – leaving it healthy and glowing.’

• Water from French volcanoes – absorbing 15 minerals when rising to the surface.
• Helps protect the skin against aggressors.
• Soothes the skin

What I like: Fragrance-free

Directions: Cleanse face and pat dry, spray Vichy thermal spray and pat dry. Then apply moisturiser.

Suitable for: All skin types (does not dry out my skin)

The Mist: Very Fine and not so strong it feels like splashing water on your face. No this is light – couldn’t even capture the most on camera.

How I use it:

MAINLY I have been using this as a ‘toner’ to prep and prime my skin straight after washing. I use a towel to pat my face dry so I spray this water into a cotton pad and swipe my face to remove dirt and debris so then I can move onto my serum stage.

Compared to the Avene Thermal Water Spray – I actually prefer this Thermal water? It’s only a very slight difference – but I feel like the Vichy is ‘cooler’ and is more ‘refreshing’ for my skin. However, I have an Avene spray I will be using after this so obviously both are great to use!

Would I repurchase?: Yes. I think it’s a lovely idea to have a spray like this for 1. When one’s skin is irritated and you don’t want a toner with actives 2. during the day when you’re feeling dehydrated 3. in a place that is dry and you want to ‘freshen’ up.

Is it necessary? Only if (see above). I do think this would be excellent for sensitive skins or skins that have a compromised skin barrier (damaged and angry skin). Where other toners are irritating your skin, you could opt to spritz your face with this to reduce further irritation, or use this as a toner to reduce irritation.
